Boss categorization

I just realized that technically Jevil, Spamton NEO, and ERAM are bonus bosses that are secret, while The Roaring Knight is not a secret boss. Should we put them in different categories, like secret boss and shadow crystal boss? (Of course we would put Jevil and Spamton NEO in both)

Do with this information what you will. I don’t know what I’m going my to do with it either

wow what an original and new debate

(I don’t mean to be rude if I seem that way btw, we have just had this debate many times before)

Has it happened yet then?

“Bonus Boss” is a leftover name back from when we were on Fandom.

It’s currently “Shadow Crystal boss” for that type of boss at this time, anyways. This was suggested from a community vote on June 12, 2025.

Honestly I think secret bosses is a better way to class them, but shadow crystals...perhaps two classes. Either way, this still seems interesting.

Well not all Shadow Crystal Bosses are Secret anymore. The term "secret boss" includes some Shadow Crystal Bosses, but not all Shadow Crystal Bosses are secret. Like a squares and rectangles situation but with extra steps.

Well-it all depends on what metric we're measuring in the end.

well my brother just did an evil thing

What'd he do

Also this is Off Topic so maybe take it to the Sanctuary

Forgive me if I’m getting this wrong but want I mean is that not secret bosses (like the knight) go in the shadow crystal bosses category, align with every other shadow crystal boss, but the ones that are secret go in the secret boss category. (Should ERAM count for this?)

I was talking to Palladium, mostly.

But yeah, now that Ch3 shows that not all bosses that hold shadow crystals are secret. a distinction must be made between secret bosses and shadow crystal bosses. Almost all shadow crystal bosses are secret bosses, but not all secret bosses are shadow crystal bosses. Like I said, squares and rectangles with extra steps.[1]

Secret (or bonus if you prefer) bosses include Jevil, Spamton Neo, the Shadow Mantle Holder,[2]Gerson and the Mikes.

  1. All squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares, but in this case there's a square that's not a rectangle. ↩︎

  2. AKA John Mantle AKA Eram (which is the name of the song that plays before the figt, not the boss itself) ↩︎

One way to tell if something has gotten too deep and we need to take a break: Xander is using citations.

(When a metric is targeted it ceases to be a good metric)

I've just started using them instead of parentheses because I've noticed sometimes the parentheses tangents like double the length of the sentence
