Wow, it’s the first changelog! How cool.

(Yes the witty comment at the beginning of each devlog/changelog is staying)
Additions:
Switch Soul Mode:
The Switch Soul from the Switch-Exclusive Mad Mew Mew fight! It’s controlled using WASD and Arrow keys, as should probably be expected. The trickiest part was getting the positions to align with any size of battle box. (It also showed me a fatal flaw with the purple soul which I’ll talk about later)
Mirror Soul Mode:
Reverses your inputs. Not much else to say tbh.
Twin Soul Mode:
Now this one is interesting. It splits your soul into two pieces. One follows your inputs normally, while the other mirrors them. Both will take damage normally, meaning you can make some really cool attacks with this.
Invisible Soul:
The Soul is barely visible. I might adjust this one later, but for now you’re 5% the normal brightness. This is really hard to balance properly so please give suggestions as to how I could make this better, that would be appreciated!
Bug Patches/Balancing Adjustments:
- Red attacks now deal half as much damage as normal attacks
- Yellow attacks now deal damage (forgot to implement this when adding them in 1.2.4)
- The Purple Soul’s line system would completely break if one of the upper/lower bounds wasn’t exactly 0. Found this out bc the Switch Soul uses a similar system to determine the “dot” locations.
- The enemy is now translucent when they’re attacking to allow the battle box to overlap them without the enemy hurting the player.
I really like this format for future updates, there’s not much different anyways. Tell me if there’s anything you want added to the engine or stuff!
