So, i’m having a bit of trouble on the knight. I don’t think i properly prepared right, the furthest i have gotten is the second knife wave attack (the one that goes in a circle) i have the ShadowMantle but i don’t know the optimal teambuild. This is what i have right now:
Kris:
Saber10
Chainmail
RoyalPin
Susie:
DevilsKnife
ShadowMantle
TennaTie
Ralsei:
Ragger2
Dealmaker
GingerGuard
I don’t have ideal items or armor such as TwinRibbon (forgot to get), and Jevilstail/Puppetscarf because i got the opposite items completely forgetting this fight existed, TensionGem (I have TensionBit but i don’t know if that will cut it) and i also don’t have revive mints because my gambling sucks ass. what can i do to improve this team?
thats what i’ve been doing for the mostpart, i’ve only put in around 3-5 attempts so i probably just need more practice, thanks for the advice though (the item rating was really needed lol)
That gear setup is actually pretty optimal already. I'd just suggest getting Ralsei the DaintyScarf so he can focus on support rather than attack, and make Kris block constantly. That way, as long as you reliably collect TP during the Knight's turn, you can consistently use Rude Buster, and heal if necessary.
Other than that, just get more ReviveMints, I guess?
Your build seems very good, but you’re kind of screwed without revivemints. Are you sure you can’t get any more from the ball machine, or that are in storage? Also, any build can beat the knight, but it’s always going to be hard for a first-timer
You esentially have the best gear, I just don't think it's arranged the most optimally.
The two most important stats for this fight are Susie's attack and magic, to boost Rude Buster (which should be doing the vast majority of damage). Give Susie the Dealmaker, Kris the TennaTie,[1] and Ralsei the RoyalPin.
Optimally, you should be using Rude Buster every turn. (Remember to press Z right before it hits the Knight for extra damage.) Spending time healing is okay, but try to use someone other than her to heal as much as possible. You should only be doing normal attacks if the TP from defending would be wasted (meaning, it would go over 100%).
About Revive Mints:
You can only ever get one from the Ball Machine, so if you already got it you can't get another. You can save scum to make sure you get it if you haven't; use the table at the bottom of https://deltarune.wiki/w/Ball_Machine#Strategy to find the right point values to guarantee a gold prize (which the Revive Mint is one of).
If you don't have any in storage, your only option to get more[2] is to go back to an earlier chapter. Here's a list of every Revive Mint you can get.
For normal healing items (not Revive Mints), you can buy TV and Deluxe Dinners for 200 D$ and 600 D$, respectively, from the vending machine in the Green Room. The Deluxe Dinners are a bit expensive to fill your whole inventory with, but there's no reason to have anything in your inventory that heals less than a TV Dinner (100HP).
To explain some things further here is what more info i can give:
I don’t have DaintyScarf as i never bothered to pick it up for Rouxls (for some reason)
I only had 1k points left so i did a couple resets and got a ReviveMint (for context on where my chapter 1 one went, i used it when beating Jevil because i sucked ass at the game)
I’ve already stacked up on TvDinners and DeluxeDinners
I’ve done a few runs and ive already gotten past my pb, quite far actually (to about the 3rd version of the very first attack) if there are any more tips with this new info i’d be glad to hear them
UPDATE: I know i can do it now, as i choked to the very last part of the knight’s inal attack thank you all for your tips also i realized after beating the knight i had another revivemint in my inventory so that probably would’ve helped :/
Kris: Saber10, Tennatie, Gingerguard (I don't remember)
Susie: Devilsknife(essential since it reduces rude buster TP cost), Shadow Mantle, Dealmaker
Ralsei: Flexscarf, Royalpin, Royalpin
As for items:
Tensionmax, Spincake, ExecBuffet, four revivemints, three DeluxeDinners
Technique-wise, my personal is to immediately have Kris use the tensionmax, rude buster from Susie, have Ralsei defend. For literally every turn, unless someone needs healing, Kris and ralsei defend while Susie rude busters. Prioritise TP since RB is the only way to do real damage.
HoldBreath is very helpful, though, in my opinion, and the first attack is very easy, so you don’t need to defend as much there
I could contribute what I had for my loadout when I did my mantleless run when I get home, although I’m afraid it wouldn’t be extremely helpful since I prepared for it using the previous chapters
Also, shadow mantle definitely goes to Susie, some people disagree but she’s clearly the MVP here
You have to practice It took me a while to deafeet the knight to but eather way you don't have to beat him because if you don't beat him everything will stay the same so you don't have to beat him.
