So according to a new theory by Spookydude, the "Sword Route" that's found in the game files doesn't actually refers to the Shadow Mantle quest from Chapter 3, but rather a possible third route that will be available after achieving the Twisted Sword (which I guess can only be done by "aborting" the Weird Route right before Kris and Noelle drown in the lake scene). If this turned out to be true, what will happen to the current article titled Sword Route, which is about how to obtain the Shadow Mantle in Chapter 3?

i dont really like that theory because the shelter is too important to be present in only one chapter. everything else can work but the final part breaks its the kriselle hype moments and aura without considering the rest of the game.
While i dont think we should start asking stuff like this because of theories i think if thats what happens, and its called "sword route", it would just get the page expanded with the rest. otherwise, it would be a different page.

as far as we know, all you need for the twistedswd is A. thornring and B. purecrystal
you don't have to give noelle the thornring in the first place. you can just, choose not to, and then you get to keep it.
that's a much earlier abort, and i don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to get the twistedswd out of it
Well, you're right about that. But there's definitely something important happening after "aborting" the Weird Route during the lake scene, specially considering the aborted weird route jingle doesn't play when doing so and there are things that still change compares to a normal playthrough. In fact this should most likely have its own article on the wiki, even though as of now we don't really know what its name should be.
too speculative to act on right now. if this turns out to be canon, then we can worry about how to handle the sword route page and any other information it affects when it becomes more clearly canon.
