Well, there's still the whole "erasure of culture" problem. If we incorporate those cultures into the universal language, it'd be better, but still not good.
Not only that, but there's also languages like the East Asian languages, as well as Arabic and its variants. They're so different from our Romanized languages because the languages evolved differently. If we tried to incorporate them into the universal language, it'd just end up being an absolute clusterfuck.
And THEN there's the question of how we handle the Indigenous cultures and their languages.
Overall? Bad idea. We'd need to make a constant shift over centuries in order to ease everyone towards one unified language, potentially destroying culture in the process.
