... more seriously, I don't even like calling people who watch LPs only larpers/posers, so long as they're not trying to argue that a boss they've never fought is too hard/too easy or anything regarding the gameplay and not just the text of the game. (LP watchers are not allowed to make roaring fraud jokes

A true larper/poser is like... me when I was very young, who never watched an episode of Danny Phantom and just read fanfic of it, but still got in arguments online about it. 
... Then again, that would mean touhou fans are posers, since a lot of them have only read fanworks and haven't even read Forbidden Scrollery or anything, let alone played the games.

This gets messy with stuff that has official secondary works/light novel adaptations, like Touhou for the former and Kingdom Hearts for the latter, I feel.
Something something 'I think if I argued that people who only watched anime adaptations weren't Real Fans because they didn't read the manga, people would get mad', and we'd be relitigating 2000s era anime discourse'.
And again: I think what's more insulting than people claiming they're a fan of something that they've watched let's plays or streams of is people doing 'theories' off stuff they have no understanding of thematically and have never played or even watched a let's play of, which is the bare fucking minimum for citing something in a theory I think.
I would take one million 'I've only watched Undertale' people who admit they don't know everything in the game over one more dogshit theory related to games I like and enjoy where it becomes like...

Like not to get into knight discussion but any reading of the knight's identity as being a parallel to (SPOILERS FOR MOTHER 3) The Masked Man that doesn't mention the entire 'Hinawa's ghost talks to Claus and he kills themselves on purpose with lightning that reflects off the Franklin Badge to join his mother in death, when THE SKYMANTLE EXISTS is something that I do NOT take seriously </3. Lean into the Masked Man and the ramifications or suffer one thousand slights against your thematic evaluation. Any mother 3 motif discussion that doesn't talk about Hinawa is dirt.
I find that way more insulting because these people don't even watch the game footage. They're just using games I like for knight discourse.

I'm not certain what's unclear here, but I will try to clarify.
To try and hammer down my points : people keep basically control f-ing wikipedia summaries of RPGs/games Toby Fox has liked for the words 'knight' and family relations without actually dealing with some of the like. Extended Themes(tm) of the things in question.
There are people who keep making trivia about the pointed tail scene in Breath of Fire II without even mentioning the part of the prologue where the protagonist gets erased from the original town they live in's memories and their family goes missing... Because they didn't play it. They are just repeating the pointed tail prologue thing without any regard for what happens directly before OR after.
Don't even know there's a town named HomeTown in it. Don't even know there's a npc resident/recruit system in it for a place called Township. Which, much like Castle Town, becomes larger/more bustling as more people are recruited.
Notice how these are things someone who even just watched a let's play would know, and then be able to incorporate into theories with knowledge of Deltarune's themes. People aren't even doing that much.

I hope so, or a large portion of Jojo's fans would have my curse enact for skipping Phantom Blood + being anime-onlies on top.

I still think lp watchers are better than 'only consumes the media through shorts/reels/ rot content' by a country mile, and to pretend otherwise is foolish.
