When I talking about Kris in portuguese I normally try to mention them by name every time and end words like "do/da" as "de" 
I translate my Spanish text by the way of the E suffix, Portoguese has the E suffix too. A problem is that in Spanish it leans more feminine as a suffix and in Portuguese I’ve seen it lean more masculine. It’s just the suffix that ends up being used as the pronoun for simplicity in queer groups.(Enby solidarity groups tend to use that Suffix, except that French then makes the suffix part of a pair, so the french ruin its main use.)

E is a Real neutral suffix in most Romance languages. I’ve noticed it’s used to refer to universally intersex species like Trees (Arbole) in Spanish and Also Concepts like Student (Estudiante)(Which is due to referencing a mission student not a school student though it’s become a school student).
