Stuck in Ch 3 of basic storymode, do not remember progress in Stories of Legend

If I have any advice it’s learning a lesson and then learnign the characters after

Start with learning about Hirigana, and then Katakana.

If you do 1 lesson of Japanese, do one lesson of learnign the characters.

And once you feel confident enough in your understanding of the characters, turn off romanization subtext

(Japanese has three alphabets, Hirigana, Katakana, and Kanji.)
