just how silly he is
He is a rather intelligent cat. At one point he tried to teach himself to speak English. Yes, you read that correctly: he tried to teach himself English. I know because he actually said some things to me.
Like, for a while, he was scared to death of our living room for whatever reason and didn't want to set foot in there, so we were trying to get him to come into and enjoy the room. I was sitting on the couch (playing mario or smth) and he was just sitting spookily right outside the room, so I went "heyyy you should come in here" and he literally said "nooo"! It seems like it could've just been a normal meow, but that said, meows generally sound like they start with a m sound, but it started with a n sound![1]
another instance of his English is when he was hungry at one point, and he went "rifv mmmood bweeesh", which had an uncanny resemblance to a horribly slurred "give food please"
also at one point he was on the couch laying on me and I was petting him with nothing else to do, and like, it was a long day, I was tired, and I had a freaking warm fuzzy purring weighted pillow happily sleeping on my chest, so, like any normal person, I sort of nodded off.
I found myself in a void with nothing to speak of in particular, and I kinda just floated there for a bit. Suddenly, a huge fluffy hand emerged from the darkness and slapped me real hard. I was bewildered by this, but then it did it again and again.
I awoke to find that he was standing on the couch next to me, and had his paw planted firmly between my eyes because he was not happy that I wasn't actively petting him.
unrelated to him teaching himself English, literally the morning after this happened, I came downstairs and he was sleeping on the living room couch. oh, the irony. ↩︎
