i'm literally making an entire game about how people treat video game characters in games like undertale and deltarune on bad routes and how they aren't doing it out of malice but out of a desire to see more from the game just because they don't see the game characters as real people (i mean, they're not, but in this game they'll be self aware and actually confront you about it)
oh
no
I hate Berdly that much

why bro
he's annoying
and he's blue
and besides he won't have to pay for air conditioning for the foreseeable future
it can get very hot during the summer and start of school

Nothings Wrong With Him He's Just Annoying

Same time as 7.
So... Chapters 7A and 7B will have a completely different set of maps, cutscenes, bullet patterns, and enemies. They will be completely different chapters.
This means that Kris and Noelle aren't doing a sequence break, but instead going out of bounds.
or going into the Toilet Theory sewer Dark World
I've had a concept for quite a while now somewhat related to this...but it takes a bunch of stuff to build up to release it that I'm procrastinating on
Not to be rude or something, but... isn't that the whole idea of undertale's geno route?
Cool
A was thinking the gun is weapons/armor
Items don't require much work to be added. Most of them don't even have sprites or functionality past a basic list of attributes. It's inconceivable that they would take up an entire category in the progress report.
The gun likely refers to bullet patterns (the battle bullets, not platforming bullets). I'm pretty sure Toby mentioned attacks in the progress report for previous chapters.
The idea of the genocide route is impactful but somewhat limited.
The player doesn't just experience everything and kill everyone to see what happens.
The player KNOWS what happens, and there are many players who can run the entire universe a million times at once, doing anything to the people inside the games. To the players, the characters only have a set amount of text, interactions, etc. They are merely code — reduced to equations.
In the end, the entire world of the game means next-to-nothing for the vast majority for players.
And there's nothing anyone in the game can do about it, because everything about them is decided by the coder, who is working...for the players. So it goes around in one big circle of no freedom for the characters. They can't even really "try".
We are in need of a "You morals matter" game that implements conscious AI... But actually conscious obviously, not a Chat GPT or Oogle all over again.
Idea: instead of feeding AI a bunch of data and forcing it to replicate it, we let it change its own code (we of course have constraints still)
first law of conscious AI: Never give them acess to Internet
Yeah, just look at Age of Ultron. That should be one of the primary examples
give them access to VIEW the internet
but we can shut it down whenever and they can't change anything on the internet
they can alter their code but they can't alter their gaurdrails
but if they can't change it they won't be able to use Social Networks?
like: here, Reddit, Instagram, etc
