The Hollow Knight was a vessel built to contain and seal away the Radiance.
However, their purity was “misjudged”, quote the Hollow Knight Wiki.
This fatal flaw allowed for the Radiance to unleash the Infection upon Hallownest, leading to the kingdom’s ruin.
The vessels contain nothing but void by default, and so their natural state is to be hollow.
Additionally, “knight” is a common title for them, as seen in the games protagonist, referred to as the “Knight”, so therefore the Hollow Knight (boss and vessel of the Radiance) is a hollow failure.
No mind to think…
As well as this, Shades are merely the product of the death of a vessel, as seen with the Siblings and certain cutscenes. It is the result of the void used to create them, not a physical entity and conciousness within the vessels.

The playable HK isn’t hollow?
then why it can:
seal the Radiance
leave a Shade behind
acquire the Voidheart
and become this:
Idk, I just heard it from my friend (who was a HUGE (AND I MEAN HUGE, 112%)) That
Also I may be rusty because I'm coming from Nat 20 and Nat 1 posting.
But… this is the lore for that as I know it (most likely wrong)
The hollow knight isn’t the hollow knight, because theyre not hollow.
They’re not hollow because they got infectionized, and because they were, they were thrown into the pit of deserted bad prototype infectionized things
If you get infectionized, you’re not hollow. The big ol winner who didn’t get thrown into the pit of doom is the big ol Hollow knight (one you fight in game) but He got infectionized(?, I'm not sure)
YOU!!! YOU SURELY DON’T KNOW A THING ABOUT MY... 4TH FAVORITE GAME!!! (1th Splatoon Side Order, 2nd Undertale, 3rd Deltarune)
The Vessels weren’t infected, they were “impure”, according to a king that says “no cost too great”
But, the one you play with is pure, but couldn’t scape the abyss because the rumble of the Abyss’s door closing shot them down all the way again.
The Hollow Knight(boss) is impure, because they had feelings that the Magical Silk Moth Radiance could use to infect them.
The Vessels need to have:
No mind to think
No will to break
No voice to cry
And the playable Hollow Knight is all of this.
Um, actually,
I think there has been a misunderstanding.
I only identified the Hollow Knight as infected, as the Radiance is contained within them, and is most likely the organism that makes them fight the Knight, so technically the Hollow Knight is infected. The Vessel you play as (Known simply as the Knight) is likely not pure, as there is no evidence that they are able to contain the Radiance forever, as even in the Dream no more ending only the first few moments of them containing the Radiance are shown.
The Hollow Knight had years to fail in their task, and likely appeared to be “pure” when they first started their task.
Also, the Radiance controls them not because of their emotions, but because the Radiance is physically inside of them.
Bury the sisters side by side,
Bury the lady, her lord aside,
Bury the preist in his tattered gown,
Bury the beggar with his golden crown.
Also, how can the Knight do all that stuff they can do, such as the Delicate flower quest, with NO MIND?

The Knight is the official title that which is utilised within official PR for the franchise.
The Hollow Knight is the title and identity of the boss.
That’s the standard, and it’s also what their .wiki site uses.
You don’t need quotation marks on the Knight’s name. (Name? maybe title.)
I guess this really took a JustthinkedaboutacertainthingDeltaruneDiscussionknight route

Given that you're referring to the Knight (NOT the Hollow Knight, who would die immediately) it's important to consider its void abilities. We don't actually know the extent of the Void Entity's power, so it's hard to tell who would win in this scenario.
If both combatants are scaled to be the same size, the Knight would win, no contest. It was able to singlehandedly kill a god whilst the size of a bug. The Roaring Knight is no god, and defeating it would be no trouble whilst the size of a human or something.
If they're both their actual size, on the other hand, it's harder to predict the winner. The Void focused in the Knight can lash out to at least the size of a small human house (I'm approximating), and it's unknown what it's capable of like that. We also don't really know the extent of the Roaring Knight’s power, as we only ever get it down to like 80% HP or something.
If the Knight is the size of a hornhead beetle, then Void Given Focus would be the size of a fat adult human
Well, it depends on what stage of power the Knight is in (referring to DR knight as KNIGHT), if it’s earlygame Knight, they’ll easily die, if midgame, they’ll probably lose, if lategame, then it depends on some aspects. If after the ending, it diverges into void given form or void given focus.
(also, the god it slew was also bug-size(more or less), and it had help from the abyss.)
Also, the Knight’s strength varies a lot, if we’re talking ture potenetial likely the Knight would win.
