Dungeons: has decent combat, you can make different character builds, has actual npcs. Has an interesting story that, in the base game at least, just puts a unique spin on an actual threat in the original Minecraft, that threat being Illagers.

the self proclaimed “Story Mode”: hardly any action, and not even the one aspect of Minecraft that Dungeons is missing, construction. Most of the game is nothing but walking around and talking to people. It has no villagers; instead, every “human” character in the game is just a player
