my definition is that if the encounter is scripted/ends in a certain amount of turns with minimal player choice, then it isn't a boss
also shuttah is awesome
Lanino/Elnina isn’t scripted from the start, only after you use the acts several times; plus it actually has some difficulty, as opposed to the other non-bosses

- the mikes have a good fight, but it's too easy for a non-optional boss with a tutorial for its gimmick, just look at giga queen and titan

in my mind, a boss/miniboss is an encounter that only has one ending, that doesn't involve fighting/sparing. if the boss is optional (ex. mike) or named titan, this rule is repealed

a boss is an encounter that only happens once (I'm looking at you watercooler) and that you can die on (MEANING, two of the lancers and the weather guys)
eh that's kinda not true I mean sometimes you can replay them or like a boss rush or something or like a phase 2 later on so like then they won't be a boss and I can agree that's kinda bullish*t
