I don’t think Papyrus is just completely different for no reason. Heck, I don’t even think he’s completely different at all. Just different enough. I’m confident this is rooted somewhere. Think about how out of character it is for Papyrus to just never be seen outside I the first place. The one time he’s inside in Undertale is when we go on a hangout/date.

Knight or not, I am confident there’s something going on with Papyrus that’s behind his current absence.

To me, it doesn’t change anything. It’s only a theory, and they’re using human skeletons as a base. If we go by that, Papyrus and Sans already have differing skull shapes than any human.
