In the deltarune.com/chapter5 webpage (that obviously shows the size and importance of the Weird Route in every chapter), 3 is shown bigger than 4 but invisible. Why? I get that 3 has the sword route but that doesn't change the main course of the story nor does it affect the weird route. It literally just has some references (like the white cloak and a blue bird) but it's not THAT important to be as big as 2. Imho it should be as big as the current 4 and the current 4 be as big as the current 5, because while 4's weird route is not affected through gameplay it still is very important to the weird route as the whole. But what do you think? Has Tricky Tony made an oopsie-doopsie?
Well I would imagine chapter 3 is more important to Spamton.
It’s best to think of the size as “how much can you deviate from the normal path” or “How much branching is there”? The sound effect for 3 is the Shadow Mantle sound effect, implying that’s the defining moment. Which implies the mantle itself is what’s important. And it is… for the Shadow Crystal.
Knowing that “But…” was referring to this, that tells us getting the Black Shard/Shadow Crystal, or the Shadow Mantle, is likely to remain important later on. In fact, I’m convinced the Shadow Route will eventually be almost as consequential as the Weird Route. The thing we use the Pure Crystal for will be very important. And the Black Shard itself me also be useful for something.
I’m convinced there are four main paths. The normal route, a path I’m dubbing the “Shadow Route” (Which the Sword Route is a part of), the Weird Route, and the combination of the “Shadow” and Weird Route, which I’m calling the “Twisted Route”, which I’m naming after the Twisted Sword which requires both the Thorn Ring from the Weird Route and the Pure Crystal from getting all the Shadow Crystals. (Which is what I mean by the “Shadow Route”)
Well, the Black Shard makes a VERY big difference at the end of chapter 4, as it does decent damage to the Titan with the shield on (enough to make the TP gain of 1 for it seem more appealing than the same from defending), and MASSIVE damage with the shield off. I kid you not, I skipped phases 5 and 6 of the Titan fight with it, and it did enough damage that I only used Dual Buster to break through what was left of the shield. I still had to use Susie's Idea to end the fight, but GOD DANG IT'S SO OP ON THAT FIGHT.
The sword route introduces you to the concept of the weird route.
I wonder if you can take the titan to 0 hp?
No, but you ZIP through its hp.
do you mean before or after gerson helps? because I know that at 50 it starts regening, but does it do that in 2nd phase?
Yeah, it regens at a certain hp threshold until you use Susie's Idea.
Awwwww, I wanted to brutally murder the titan
ikr, imagine getting a "Titans Slain: 1" afterwards that'd be so metal.
bro imagine looking at your friends save and seeing “Titans Slain: 25”
It seems to indicate how important it is to the weird route, not just mechanically but naturally. It’s black because it’s not a part of the weird route, but it’s huge because you wouldn’t know about the weird route until you do the sword route.
Because of the sword route, ya answered yer own question, there, bud.
Understood, bub
