I feel like fans have already got the message by now, and this huge wall of citations is exaggerating it to a point where it’s impossible to ignore.
Was the issue really that bad, that we needed this many citations to spread the message?
Oh and by the way this isn’t a debate. I am just confused as to why we needed this many citations. It makes the references section extremely cluttered.
Not sure what the intent behind the person who started it was, but we voted to keep the absurd number of citations as a gag for publicity. It's especially helpful since we recently forked off of Fandom.

The issue was pretty bad, it brings publicity to the wiki, almost like a tourist attraction, and it’s not that bad for the page’s organization, it’s a few lines in an infobox
I wouldn't say it was necessarily planned out as a publicity stunt but that's kind of what it came to be over time. The links that tentech posted have a lot of good arguments from people that voted to keep them.
