ok the second I saw I had to build wine I said "fuck this" and put everything that was involved into trash

I'm on Linux and I just installed Wine through Discover, try whatever the Mac version of that is
Otherwise try adding the exe to Steam, since Steam will see that the executable isn't for your OS and run it through Proton
