Twisted route, sword route & how it might go

[[B0R1NG !!]]:
First of all, I'm not claiming that any of my following statements are true because I haven't gotten too deep with deltarune theories nor do I know every bit of info regarding deltarune/undertale. I'm gonna lay some of my thoughts which you, a better theorist, can expand, debunk or do whatever you want with it. After this I'm gonna siteth and waiteth for ch. 6 & 7, so I'm not gonna theorize anymore. If any1 has already theorized about this, I'm sorry to repeat and credit should go to those who first started thinking about this. I'm also sorry if thou geteth losteth readinge this, I'm not so goodeth at this nor is englishe mine firste language. Thank you for reading this and thanks for your patience!

To [[beg1n]]:
Now to start the theory it is important to go back to chapter 3 sword route which might be misinterpreted. Basic theory for retro style game in ch. 3 is that the Board 2 is the snowgrave route and the third board is whats about to happen in the next chapters on possible third 'twisted sword' route or weird route. I think that the retro game can be thought of it like that but I'm gonna offer another view of it and evidence for it.

{Sword} route:
If we have atributed the chronological aspect of the sword route in basic theory then it should apply to every board. What I'm trying to say is that every board in the retro game should have its meaning and follow the chapters as it follows the boards. The Board 1, following the chronology of chapters, would be chapter 1 because Board 2 is considered to be chapter 2 {side thought: Board 1 might be first part of ch. 2 till rollercoaster Berdly fight, but you'll see why I think thats not the case in the other, non basic, view. However it is a good counter argument for what I'm going to state}. The problem with ch. 1 being the Board 1 is the GETTING STRONGER part of the board along with the specific bird enemy in the end. And at the end of Board 1 the player is met with the ice key. It basically opens the door to 'ice palace' in Board 2, to the 'snowgrave' part and the message: 'aren't you forgetting something important?' confirms it isn't anything regular, but rather crucial to continue the sword route. Board 2 starts with Kris and player getting stronger and then entering 'ice palace' where they get to the max level. After that a person in white cloak joins Kris and player following their attacks and in the end killing/freezing every enemy. Sounds a lot like snowgrave route, but it doesn't have to be interpreted that way. In the 'ice palace' there were 2 messages: 'THE FORBIDDEN PATH BEGAN WITH ICE MAGIC' and 'FOLLOW THE WHITE CLOAK'. The first message is kind of obvious that it hints at weird/twisted route, but the second one is interesting... Noelle, who is probably the person in white cloak, is not the type of person to lead or to be brave and show us the path (only in the ch. 5 weird route do we see her transformation from 'weak' Noelle). On Board 2 Noelle shows us the way to exit the 'ice palace' meaning she knows that place and she is also following our attacks without hesitation meaning something changed with her (like in ch. 5 weird route) and that leaves no room for still 'weak' ch. 2 Noelle which is still scared, hesitant and doesn't know the way {interesting thought: in Board 2 enemies freezed look like they are freezed with snowgrave which would mean Noelle already knows the spell. But this might be just the visual thing, I don't consider this as strong evidence}. Another small detail I could add to this is that Kris and player are the ones doing the puzzles instead of Noelle (like in ch. 2). {I know some of this facts aren't a pretty strong evidence for Board 2, but I'll offer some other interesting connections about it. Feel free to add to this if you want.}

[[hyperlink blocked]] & Board 1:
Now when we covered the sword route possibly not being the way it was thought of I'll offer an explanation to why I think Boards represent chapters 2,6 and 7. We still have to go back to board 1 and look at some of its details. First part of every board is getting the sword, which might represent players control over Kris because the monsters aren't attacking Kris until Kris gets the sword. That aside though in Board 1 player kills monsters to get stronger and then is able to slice cactuses and progress further to the blueish area. There he reaches the max LV, being able to slice trees, and is left with an option to slay the blue bird. Whether or not he slays the bird he will go to cut trees in the place he 'isn't supposed to be in' or 'out of bounds' and get the ice key. Interestingly enough, a lot of this (not all perfectly) is pretty similar to ch. 2 weird route. You get stronger with Noelle {st: Noelle probably isn't in board 1 to maintain the mystery plus the fact that we are the one pushing her to do what we want making her basically our [[PUPPET]] which we control like Kris, but still this is a good counter argument} and after killing everyone we go to the [[:spamton:$$, 1997©!!]] dumpster {it: dumpster has a place inbetween rooms (tree with an egg), an area where we glitch out of bounds like in board 1}, and in that dumpster we get [[hyperlink blocked]], my best guess for the ice key. {st: Berdly doesn't need to be killed to get the thornring (that is ice key) , but in order for twisted route to continue we have to lose/kill recruits which has a bad impact on Berdly and results in him losing his arm which might be important for future chapters}

Board 2 and ch. 6 dark world:
Now here things take a weird route. Everything goes as usual but this time we go on a raft to a unkown 'northern' area where the 'ice palace' is located. The ice palace cannot be entered without the ice key which if we translate to chapters, is the thornring. Now we have to look at the lightworld and the location of the next dark world. I'm not gonna theorize much about it but it seems like it is going to be hospital because of that cyan-yellow npc and Rudy potentially being hospitalized again. Inside of hospital there are Asgores flowers to Rudy, frozen Berdly {st: on aborted snowgrave rude route he might come again to hospital with his broken arm} and the fish-like nurse with teeth. They all might represent the enemies inside of 'ice palace' {it: idk who would be the yellow dinos (just for dragon blazers reference?) and the white monster might be Noelle's past life but thats kinda stretchy idk}. Noelle also played a game (dragon blazers?) with Rudy in ch. 2(?) and that interaction offers a lot of data. Noelle plays the Ice Palace boss, the Silver Drake, which is resistant to fire. Another enemy inside Board 2 is the silver monster which Noelle has to freeze to beat {it: Noelle wanted to control the game and didn't let Rudy play making a shift which would then fit the Board 2 Noelle character of a 'leader'}. And in the end a bird is standing in our way which we have to freeze. If Berdly makes an appearence in ch. 6 he is most definitely going to know about dark worlds and whats weird going on and is gonna try and stop Noelle and Kris which fits the Board 2. After Noelle freezes burghley {:snowgrave:} she leads us through the ice palace (which is her own territory because she played the game) and we are in front of the delta-rune door. There, the ice key is used up, she is used up. The key is used up because we don't have to freeze anymore enemies but it might also be that we craft the twisted sword {st: Seam said that he is ready to go with us when we want him, but also that hammer npc is in almost every chapter and he is the one crafting the sword. Might be a stretch but this is just speculation}. We then don't need Noelle and she is moved out of the way and we enter the delta-rune door {st: the door might be opened with the twisted sword rather than thornring because the key is first used up, then Noelle and then the door is opened}. There we find the Northern light, a Shelter key {it: in Board 2 there are 3 places where it says to 'go to the northern light' possibly refering to the 3 codes for the Shelter. Regarding the key for shelter, almost every 'digital' lock still has a mechanical lock which then makes the Shelter key actually a possibility in the chapters. If thats not true it might be that the shelter key is the Delta-rune code because of the door} and evilram's [[:johnmantle:]] hiding place {st: idk where would that place actually be in the light world (roots? idk lol)}, then the Kris is used up which is the beggining of the end. :krisplat:

Board 3 and ch. 7:
I don't think that I have to talk about this part much. The player gets rid of Ralsei and Susie at the beggining {it: the area in the Board 3 is some type of city, and it kind of looks like cybercity on that bridge part which might hint at player getting rid of them in the dark world and then going to a dark manhole}, then does the hometown slaughter and enters the shelter.

[[insert epic outro music]]:
I think there are more connections that I missed or forgot to add to this theory. Again, I'm not claiming any of this is true, but it was fun making this theory. Excuse me once again if this was just a waste of time for you and if you found it difficult to understand some parts (me not goodeth at writeth and englishe). I want to thank all the people who had theorized about third route, bit roots or anything similar to this theory. [[:rouxls: ]] Thanks again guyse and God blesseth thee all!

big walls of text

Hey
Use the complete version

It was supposed to read “I can’t read big walls of text” I think

:torielfacepalm: i'm so dumb

So
THAT'S
why people use paragraphs

A lil update to theory. Ik I said I'm quitting till ch 6, but I can't, this is really interesting... Anyways to add to the theory: Tennas games also might represent chapters 1 and 5. They are both 'wacky adventures' and they make some connections to the real chapters as well (view the pic). I only think that theres less evidence for Game 1 being ch 1 but ch 5 seems to fit with some clues. But theres also the mystery of ch 3, 4 and i think its quite interesting that those egg rooms are 8bit styled. Thats all. Thanks againe and bye guyse. :dogdance:
