They slashed them 3

now here this time its not misgendering but gendering names.

I don't really feel like fact checking this tbh

Aqua Wave * Yes, Kirby is a he slash him, but Chara is not a she slash her name

In fact, names being gendered is so fucking stupid anyway

Kirby is only he/him in English to appeal to western audiences and to Match The Lawyer Kirby. Kirby Is Literally Genderless. The only times Kirby has used honorifics they’re also the honorifics that despite leaning masculine are typically used for nonbinary or intersex characters (Yubel,Acht, Etc), but as Kirby is a blob and is named after A Lawyer, in the west Kirby was made a boy as that lawyer is one too and all times Kirby is referred to as a child or young one , or even by Plural Words, Changed to Boy.

And Kirby is a Last Name, Kirby is also explicitly Not Male. Japanese Cookie traditions are just one example of Kirby lacking, but Kirby also has presentation Similar to Kris of mixing masculine and feminine, that wouldn’t help much but with the fact Kirby is both a Genderless character and is an import into the western world it actually does help.

Aqua Wave * I thought Kirby was named after the vaccum company because his gimmick is that he sucks stuff up

No Kirby is named after the lawyer that proved donkey Kong was not a King Kong ripoff. Otherwise we would’ve gotten It/It’s For Kirby. An Example of another it/it’s character with the same system are various Members of Naruto’s Tailed beasts, Yubel’s Card(Yubel is made female outside of card form by 4Kids but the Card version also only has 1 Boob instead of 2 still), and the like.

Kirby is literally if a character like Kris was imported into the western world from Japan and not vice versa. Down to mixing presentation and tradition.(There’s a lot of gender specific traditions that Kirby does both on, and it is noticeable that Kirby’s Pronouns do match Nintendo’s other enby characters, Like Legendary Pokemon dialogue in some games, even ones referred to by feminine terms still get the same treatment.). Kirby’s honorific is also viewed heavily neutral to the point it’s used in Media titles and the like. As a Spanish speaker I’d compare it to El as the neutral.

Well, you're right on Kirby's name's origin.

In an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto at E3 2011 by Game Informer, Miyamoto confirmed rumors that the name Kirby was chosen partially to honor John Kirby, the attorney who defended Nintendo in the case Universal City Studios, Inc. v. Nintendo Co., Ltd. Miyamoto, however, explained that the name was also chosen because of the Japanese trend to give cute characters "very soft names with soft sounds in them". Miyamoto thought that the name Kirby had "harsh sounds" to it, and that "the juxtaposition of this cute character with this harsh-sounding name was very funny".

I should say some of these characters are Genderless or animals, just like Kirby (Literally Genderless, so are the tailed beasts) or Acht(Animal, they’re an Octopus, Welll an Octoling, so are the tailed beasts) as well. Even if the It/It’s and They/Them are different it’s the same method to show a character is queer. And Kirby being a Food consuming ball is what matters.(+Kirb Mitosis)

Yep, why wouldn’t Kirby be the lawyer?

And Even Kara the name Chara sounds like is a Semi-Neutral Name in Origin that Involves friendship and partnership.(Definitley not a hint at sonething.). And Chara literally has had effort for Toby to Dispel the MurderBoy Variable, with Chara using the same method as Kirby but with a feminine leaning honorific to make up for it.

I was just fact-checking. Trust but verify, y'know?

I'm also just gonna leave this screenshot of the section on Kirby's gender from WiKirby here, as well.

I never said Kirby was good rep, just that Kirby is rep.

Consumer of genders.

There’s Kirby posts but official Kirby material has Kirby’s honorific presented like this. Spin-Offs like the show aren’t really considered canon.

Doesn't Chara come from the fact that every sprite contains "chara" in it because it stands for character?

Which is why the name select screen says "The true name." when inputting it as a name. It's because everyone is a Chara, because chara stands for character.

...Which I suppose that implies that it's pronounced care-uh like character but I'm a car-uh person all the way.

Yeah it sounds like Character, it’s most commonly pronounced Like that name by some people, so it might’ve been someone confusing Chara and Kara, as Kara is Pronounced Char-A or Chara-.

Also I just put the screenshot here as proof that it's valid to refer to Kirby with he/him, because that's what's usually used for him in most places.

Yes it’s valid, Kirby just ain’t a boy. Just like yellow.
