here comes the ultimate crack theory
I present: THE ROARING DOG
A series of connections of various theories leading up to the pinnacle of crack theoriness
So often, people paint Gaster as the villain of Deltarune. But what if he wasn't?
We're certain that the Voice is Gaster, as it speaks the same way Entry 17 does, and the numbers for the typeface match as well. But consider this. What appears with the Voice in the intro sequence? What surprises us, and throws us into the game?
The Voice
YOUR ANSWERS
YOUR WONDERFUL CREATION
A sudden, new voice?
Will now be discarded.
No one can choose who they are in this world.
There is an obvious contrast here. The first voice has a consistent tone, with all caps and lack of punctuation. The second voice, on the other hand, does use proper punctuation, as well as ditching the all caps in favor of standard sentence casing. The second voice also uses a different typeface, not related to Gaster at all.
What is Gaster trying to do here?
If you think about it, it's obvious.
He is trying to give us freedom.
Freedom to choose who we are.
That could potentially change the game a lot depending on our choices, couldn't it?
Potentially leading to a different ending?
But Deltarune is a game with only one ending, right?
What is the "second voice" trying to do?
That, too, is obvious.
It's trying to take our newfound freedom away.
After all, "no one can choose who they are in this world", right?
Think now, about the secret bosses from chapters 1 and 2.
What do they have in common?
A mysterious entity communicated with them, and all was well, until later, when things went awry some way or another and they ended up forced to crash and burn.
But was this crashing and burning Gaster's doing?
Or someone else?
(Keep in mind, my case for Jevil is rather lackluster compared to that for Spamton)
Gaster may have made contact with Jevil at some point, helping him gain freedom.
Who else made contact with Jevil?
The ROARING KNIGHT.
And so, he went insane.
What was it
that Spamton always wanted?
What did he fight for?
What did he want a soul for?
That's right.

Or as I like to call it,
choices.
So that he could make his own [deals].
So that he could call his own [shots]
So that he could even become a BIG SHOT.
Gaster called him, and taught him how to gain that freedom.
Spamton, with his knowledge of how to become a big shot and the freedom to do it, quickly rose in fame. He even established a relationship with two particular business partners.
So how did that end?
While visiting Tenna one day, he recieved a call from Gaster. He couldn't supply freedom anymore.
In a panic, Spamton ran from the phone to call Gaster again on a private line.
But nothing was left except Garbage Noise.
The reason is simple. Their connection was severed by a black knife.
In summary, Gaster had no ill intentions with either of them. He wanted to give them the freedom they desired. But alas, another being intervened, and they both fell.
The Annoying Dog.
What is there to say about it other than
it is Toby's representation of him in his games?
And what was his original plan?
A game with only one ending.
What was that I said before?
About freedom leading to a different ending?
There is one big way so far to go beyond what the game "intends".
At the cost of near-complete genocide.
In the weird route, you get to make your own choices.
Spamton even says so at the end.
If something you made suddenly had a mind of its own, what would you do?
If it was supposed to only do one thing?
That would be a problem.
It has obtained freedom, but it shouldn't have that.
You need to take that freedom away.
Even if you have to manipulate its objects by force.
Nintendo's glitch and sequence break policy go brrrrr

Nintendo's glitch and sequence break policy go brrrrr
Do you get why I said that tho
Right up until dk bananza, they cruelly patched every glitch they could, and mario maker... it's a sad story
So many really cool levels that implement really complex glitches, hunted down and torn apart by Nintendo, and all those glitches get patched later
Which also means that any other levels that use those glitches become unplayable
THAT IS LINEARLLY THE ANNOYING DOG IS TOUGH
WHAT IS YOU TALK ABOUGHT
THE ANNOYING DOG ISN'T AN ACTUAL CHARACTER, THAT'S WHY IT'S NOT CLASSIFIED IN EITHER "LIGHTENER" OR "DARKNER", HE'S "JOKENER"
