Around 0:47, you can hear in the background something that sounds a lot like part B of THE HOLY
could be wrong tho

The Sunset of Seven Sons![]()
There has already been a thing about this https://undertale.wiki/d/t/the-holy-in-seven-suns/5928?u=jojojojojojo
I think the consensus is that it's maybe a variation?
oh alright!
As someone with a flowery pfp I don't know how I feel about that
wait, you saw that and still felt things???
I hear it, but it always gets reverted due to "no consensus" or some other bs, so I'm making a poll here and whatever option wins is the "consensus" I guess? (did an oopsie last time had to post again)
It would make sense for this motif to be there
Why? Because SoSS is a HOLY song
Seriously one of the best ever
I'm going to step in here and say that polls do not override replies with proper reasoning, per rule 10 of our Discussion rules.
If I am correct in assuming that the series of sustained notes at that timestamp is supposed to quote THE HOLY, then the melodies do not match at all.
Personally, I don’t think there’s quite enough evidence to say it’s intentional.
THE HOLY’s leitmotifs so far seem to be associated with both the sword/weird route and water, as indicated by it’s appearances in Dump, SWORD, Flashback (excerpt), Ever Higher arguably in ATRIUM and ofcourse, THE HOLY itself.
It also appears in Before the Story and Abandoned Town, but Abandoned Town (atleast to me) seems to only be referencing it because it’s trying to get people to use Deltarune motifs in fan songs without thinking it’s weird. (Same reason why I think Darkness Falls is in it)
And for Before the Story, it plays on the menu screen with a giant dark fountain in it, so it makes sense to reference it.
Its definitely possible that my interpretations are wrong or that in the future we do get a good reason for Seven Suns to use the motif, but for now I think it’s best to just wait untill the game is finished and see if it would make sense for the song to reference it.
This is reasonable, but just because we don't know the meaning doesn't mean it's not there, I mean it literally hits the same notes at the same times but just split into more of them. Also yes, ATRIUM has THE HOLY as well, it even has the swells on the music sheet, this should be added as I said before. (Also if we wanna go with the water meaning then TECHNICALLY cliffs do have the water puzzles in climbing segments same as ch4)
A track doesn't need to make thematic sense for a motif to be intentional, Tenna is in SWORD even though SWORD is for the version of the game without Tenna's influence.
Besides the meaning of the Holy is weird, because there's no real thru line. The Holy(the song) has nothing to do with the weird route and the weird route songs have nothing to do with dark fountains or water (other than the second board of the original game having water, but that's kinda thin to me). Then there's Ever Higher and ATRIUM, atrium maybe because it's in all caps like THE HOLY, but Ever Higher has nothing to do with anything. If the deltarune wiki isn't even confident enough to say what the holy means, then you can't really use it as evidence.
At least in my opinion
Whatever the holy means, it's clearly related to the full flashback track as it's present in both the excerpt and the weird route version of the track (hidden really well in the 2nd), speaking of which, should probably have its own discussion on whether it should be added to the wiki, this video shows it well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwETW9n-Tlo
But I'd probably consider this a fun fact until we get the full version of flashback to confirm if this is actually the case...
Going back to Sunset, idk what more you guys want, there's a great comparison, plus there is a poll in which 8 people agree, so...
you're probably just gonna have to wait for F-sharp to respond, they seem to be the only one opposing this musically
