I looked really hard at the knight during the animation where it summons its sword and it kinda looks like a bat before they grab it, does anyone else see it?

Honestly, the Dess knight theory makes sense to me because we know Kris communicates with Carol over phone to stop Susie from getting the shelter code from Chapter 4. So it could be that Dess has turned into the Knight, and Carol knows about it.
I actually think Carol Knight is correct. They’re almost certainly the one Kris is cooperating with, and Kris is cooperating with the Knight, with that Dark Fountain in Chapter 3. The sword is probably the katana.
Erm actually the Katana is a two handed sword and the Knight uses it one handed
Alright, I'll accept this as a valid theory, but I'm still gonna hope it's not Dess.
Fair enough… But Dess still doesn’t make much sense either.
The Knight is someone who must have had access to the school, and the library, in order to make those fountains. At night. Without raising suspicion, since everyone still thinks she’s gone forever.
Dess… is missing. The mayor would have had access to everywhere, since, well, she’s the mayor. Same thing for the church. This is how she would have known the church code. You might think capturing Undyne means she needed Undyne for the code, but she grabbed Undyne and took her to the bunker, there was little time to interrogate the code out of Undyne, and the Knight was also previously trying to do something involving Toriel, so the Knight probably has other motivations to capture Lightners.
If we’re going with joke theories, Knight Knight Knight.
Anyway, if it really is the bat, Carol could have taken it from Dess’s room. We see a wiffle bat in Dess’ room. And there’s no way Dess from wherever she is is somehow changing things around in the Light world. She’s likely in The Depths. (And see above post for more evidence against Dess but for Carol. There’s a good reason why I predicted Mayor Knight BEFORE the new chapters cane out actually. …I still think Gaster’s involved, though.)
EDIT:Wait THE MAYOR PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN THE ONE TO SET UP THE BUNKER CODES! That’s how she knows all three! Someone had to set up the mechanism after all! Undyne would be given her code, Dess given the pine tree one and Father Alvin (Or maybe Gerson before that?) the third one. All working under the mayor. Then Dess went missing. Then Undyne went missing. She was taken away not to get her code, but so that WE couldn’t get Undyne’s code.

And I believe there is now only ONE (maybe two) possible options based off the following.
Susie mentions that since the knight has a connection to the mayor, the police, and whatever the heck the third thing is.
THAT MEANS THERE ARE ONLY TWO POSSIBLE PEOPLE
The Mayor herself (though the connection to the police is more vague, maybe the whole bunker thing idk)

And I feel like it's being hinted at so clearly. Kris tells the knight (or maybe just the mayor if they aren't one in the same) to come over (oh yeah kris mayor kahoots what the hells going on there?) and then we see asgore, shortly followed by mayor holiday. The scene is played so that at first you think it's asgore, and OMG asgore's the knight, but the mayor holiday arrives home from work early, implying that SHE'S the knight.
