so with the knight fight's music, there is the freedom leitmotif.
In secret bosses, like Jevil and Spamton, they lived a good life but then had a downfall. Jevil was the court jester until he met possibly the knight, marking his downfall. Spamton was a successful buisnessman until whoever was helping him left (maybe tenna), also marking his rise and downfall. Gerson was a successful author until his death, also marking his downfall.
Now with where the music is used, and how the freedom leitmotif is used, I don't think it is just because the knight is chapter 3's secret boss, I think it is a sure sign that the Knight is Dess
The items that they carry with them into the fight, and their appearance is too similar to a missing someone. Plus, the leitmotif inside of the battle theme could mean that Dess was meant to be a famous musician (Tenna called her a "Musical Prodigy") and then her being locked into the Knight's body marked her downfall
I am just guessing, but I think Toby including a similarity between chapter 1 2 and 4's secret bosses with the freedom leitmotif is possibly not a coincidence, it could be a huge hint that
Dess is the Knight, and the motif shows her rise and downfall, much like the rising and falling melody that the motif carries, and just like the previous bosses
Edit: TBH I am not even sure if the motif is used in the music, but I could have sworn I heard a variation of it, correct me if I am wrong
I dont think FREEDOM is in the Knight’s theme
If it was, it would be a distorted version of it
And if that was true, it would have some interesting implications, but i dont think its in there
yeah i was little bit skeptical if it was in there or not
I’m pretty sure the Knight also has the same kind of forbidden knowledge that Jevil and Spamton have. They did have a Shadow Crystal, after all, and there’s evidence Gaster is playing both sides (On the old wiki, I talked about this, and I plan on making an updated thread all about this later on once we’re at a point where I can have spoilers in the title.)
Here’s what I have so far, by the way. Everything from the old wiki isn’t going to be marked because that was from before the new chapters came out. But new stuff will be.
DARK, [[DARKER YET DARKER*]]. [[THE DARKNESS KEEPS GROWING. SHADOWS CUTTING DEEPER**]]. [[PHOTON READINGS NEGATIVE***]]. [[THIS NEXT EXPERIMENT SEEMS... VERY VERY INTERESTING****]]. WHAT DO YOU TWO THINK?
*But what if it could get... darker than dark? https://deltarune.com/chair
**And the shadows start to grow (Also, “an alternate view of reality, through the lens of shadow”)
***Dark worlds emit darkness and remove all light (Chapter 1, before you fall) Oh, also... when the light is running low
****Gaster did this?
The vessel is greyed out, it was likely made of darkness. He has relation to 666, and Jevil mentions HELL'S ROAR.
I don't think Gaster wants to do the Roaring or anything like that. If he wanted that he could've done that easy and wouldn't bring us back. His motives, and what I think is really going on in Deltarune is way more complex than I can do justice in just one post. (Mollystars' theory is close to what I have in mind but I do have a few notable deviations from it.)
If LIGHT and DARK need balance, why did nothing happen during the time before Castle Fountain was made? It was a normal supply closet not so long ago, so if one fountain is balance, how was everything fine with zero?
Also there's evidence Gaster made the prophecy. (Old Deltarune.com archives)
Just found this:
i have no idea why toby would make a world revolving reference in the knight fight
The Knight probably knows the same thing Jevil does. Either Gaster told both of them, or the Knight told Jevil.
Gaster told the Knight, the Knight told Jevil, Jevil told King
UNUSED strings exists though
Why did chara make gaster do that
Mike kinda follows this too. He used to be Tenna’s right hand man before disappearing after someone left.
Add in the false Mikes, they kept up the Mike facade for so long until the Delta Warriors catch them.
HEY! HEY! HEY! THERE’S ONLY ONE MIKE! ONE MIKE! GOT IT!?
