Hi, this may not be the most popular take but Ive had it for a while and that’s that I find while in good spirits and obviously a joke poking fun of transphobes I find the emphasis placed on their pronouns to be a little upsetting as a nonbinary person.
The main reason for this is that even within this fandom they/them pronouns are treated as a novelty, funny because transphobes are dumb, but why should we have to give any energy to transphobes? I don't need to be reminded that lots of folks hate/don't believe in nonbinary people trust me. Additionally I think that it winds up almost legitimising the argument that Kris' pronouns are up for debate, even if they were not once referred to with pronouns it would be the correct choice to use they/them, however as it stands it communicates the idea that transphobes can be facts and logic'd their way into respecting us (they can't). I don't mean any hate with all this I just thought it would be at least worth thinking about, especially if you are not someone who uses they/them pronouns.
(to be clear I doubt this will change anything, although I would love it if so, I'm more interested in providing an alternate perspective on the issue)

I personally am straight (as of now) however not a transphobe
I do think just ignoring them and putting a reasonable amount of citations is a good idea

My only real thought on this as another trans person is I do wish people would carry some of this citation rigor with other characters (Seam, etc).
I do not think blaming other trans users for legitimizing the argument by adding citations properly levels the fault at the correct people, which has always laid with those who are transphobic.
Citation of text does not exist to facts and logic someone to not be transphobic any more; it exists so there is no longer any plausible deniability for the type of insidious annoying as hell genre of transphobe who goes 'ooh i didn't notice... ooh source?' to wriggle out of the fact they were being transphobic when that is leveled at them. Which the transphobes of those types love to do, utilizing the social contracts within forum and group chat spaces of 'dont be hecking rude >:(' to deliberately isolate trans folks who point misgendering shit out and get impatient.
Already said it once but tldr: point isn't to facts and logic convince chuds, it's to kick them the hell out when they show their true colors and not let them slink in the corners picking off trans users and allies who care going 'but they were mean to me (for being rancid and debating their existence) !!! :(((('.
I also think going "we shouldn't give energy to transphobes/racist/other bigots" in discussions like this mever works, because... if you do not combat them or address them, you're just letting a mold infestation get worse.
Yes, keeping spaces safe takes energy. That doesn't mean that any attempt to mitigate the damage done by chuds is optional/giving Too Much Energy, because I've seen the alternative 'oh just ignore them' tack does in fanspaces, and it ends BAD for anyone who is not a turbo-bigot or enabler of turbo-bigotry.
That's how I feel about it, anyway.
