Why do we have 47? It's way too many. I know it's a controversial subject, but that shouldn't influence the wiki. Their pronouns are objectively they/them, there isn't really even a need for citations at all, we don't have them for a majority of other character's pronouns, but if we are keeping them, there should only be around 1-5, in my opinion. It's currently way too bloated.
I agree per WP:OVERCITE (yes I know this isn't wikipedia but some guidelines from it could also be applicable here I guess)
I attempted to fix this per HELP:CITEMERGE however it resulted in an automatic block by automoderator (i got unblocked after telling the admins, but they didnt want to do anything about the citations)
I really urge for this ridiculous situation to be fixed!
The edit adding all those citations was originally reverted right away because of the overciting concern, but then we got to talking about it in the discord server and thought it would be worth making an exception in this case to leave it up. So there were a couple polls on what people wanted to do and ultimately we decided to keep it.
Here are my personal reasons for why I think it's fine to keep:
- It's isolated to just this one instance on Kris's page and isn't something that will be added anywhere else
- It gets people talking about the new wiki at a time when we're having issues with reaching people to tell them we've moved away from fandom
- It gets the point across on how much textual evidence there is regarding Kris's pronouns, a subject which is surprisingly contentious
- It's really funny
I don't think it's going to stay like that permanently, but I also don't think there's any harm in keeping it like that for now and it has a few benefits as I mentioned.
Just to further emphasize a point in OceanBagel's post, we held three (3) separate polls in the discord server before making the decision to keep the abnormal amount of citations.

I didn't know people were genuinely in favor of the 47 pronouns at first and I got hit by the automod trying to reduce it as well. But I don't disagree with Ocean's points.
Some ideas have been brought up to citemerge or to make a specific subpage for references. That way we can keep the informational benefit while maintaining a more professional appearance.
yeah this was discussed in the discord as above said. there arent any solid plans to remove the many citations in the future, but i think most people who voted either way are seeing it as a temporary addition to the page for the lolz. that's what i'm hoping for as well; i've said in the discord already, but i'm not a fan of having more than 2 pronouns citations for kris because
- having more than 3 i think is overkill and a little funny, and No Fun Allowed
- if two doesn't convince someone, neither will four, neither will forty-seven. if someone doesn't use they/them for kris and a bit of citations do not make them understand, then telling them more won't help. why would we try informing people that are deliberately ignoring the game's text? why are we pandering to people that do not respect us?
but majority ruled to keep 47 so it's fine X) and unfortunately, it is, in fact, really really funny. my case will rest until we decide to re-open the discussion. if anything we should probaby add an edit comment to kris's page notifying of this discussion, bc right now it looks like vandalism, bc it WAS originally vandalism we just kept.
and to clarify in case people are confused, the people above were temporarily automatically banned by the abuse filter because they deleted over 9000 characters from a page, not because of deleting the pronoun citations specifically. this is just how the abuse filter works, they were manually unbanned after. it happens.

sometimes I refer to kris as male. I guess the citations are a necessary evil lol.
Eh I usually use male pronouns for Kris too, like I use female pronouns for Chara
honestly I think it's good to keep just because it's funny, same with the weird route page having the "guessing things took a weird route" as it's image, as long as they aren't super out of place and common I think making a little joke like that is nice. If it's a bit too much, maybe shortening it so the longer multiple sentence ones are gone would be alright like 15, 18, 41, 44, and 47
