Ideas

I have 2 ideas for the community.

  1. Discuss and distribute who makes and updates what pages for chapter 5, to avoid issues and make it easier
  2. Add a fangame page with a link to other fangames wikis, basically just a list of fangames, mainly for the UT wiki.

I mean, we're alr linked to UTY's wiki, so it would be nice. Besides, the "UnderTale Community Wiki" (also linked for some reason?) is only in Chinese

I second these

  1. we want to encourage new editors, especially during the period of editing after chapter release. deciding who does what ahead of time is going to encourage regulars to continue editing, but will discourage new people. i also don't think this is necessary in the first place when we haven't had any issues in past chapters with new pages. it's always been fine! fun even!
  2. as an uty wiki admin, the undertale wiki does not document the fandom. this would go against site rules. if we want to help out other independent wikis i think it could just go on the main page

So if we have some offshoot of the AU wiki frm Fandom we can get a link to that like we do with UNDERTALE Yellow, and just link to an external wiki?

UTY has gone beyond a fanmade game, it got endorsed by Toby, some of the devs worked on the 10th Anniversary stream, HECK, it even has a Wikipedia page ffs

Making a plan wouldn't discourage new users, in fact having a designated page to plan who's adding what could even help with some new users who don't know where to start to edit. And on the topic of fangames, with how many fangames there are, putting them all on the main page would just clutter everything.

i don't see why not. is there one, though?

popularity is not the problem. it is a fangame made by fans, and we don't document fan content.

we have this already, it's the stub category. wikis are meant to be editable by anyone in good faith, it would go against the nature of it to restrict edits on any pages to a couple of regular users for no reason.

i say no reason because an influx of chaotic edits following june 24 is not a bad thing. it is an expected and great thing that we are already well prepared for and have handled well every deltarune update in the past. restricting edits isn't necessary.

utyw is the only independent utdr fanwiki i can name. unless there's a lot i don't know about i can't imagine this would cause clutter.

I'm not saying no one else can edit a page, just that if someone really wants too, they can say that so others who edit pages and don't really care which page their editing can skip past it so others can work on it, so everyone at least gets a chance to edit what they want to edit. However if they get no work done then others could just do it ig. Also to see other wikis just look up a fangame and go to like the 7th page of results.

...wait what I did not hear about this this is big what

makes sense, I mean

wdym "even", as long as it's notable it should have a Wikipedia page[1]

  1. and if it doesn't, FIX THAT! :D ↩︎

Oh.
Oh, yes there is.
There is very much a wiki there.
