I

We open on a quiet bridge suspended above a deep pit. Lots of blues and blacks surround the bridge, which combined together create a calm and peaceful atmosphere. A human set foot onto the bridge, breaking the silence. The human had a malicious air about them, with a sweat soaked bandanna, menacing looking ballet shoes, and a grimy blue and magenta striped shirt that released a tiny bit dust with every step its wearer took. When the human was a few feet away from the end of the bridge, another figure set foot on the bridge. The figure was a yellow monster with no arms, a tail, and spikes on the back of their head. The monster yells to the human, and after the monster catches up to them, they attempt to talk to the human. “Yo. Undyne told me to stay away from you. She said you… hurt a lot of people.” The monster stopped, which created a tense atmosphere that hung heavy in the air before they continued. “But, yo, that’s not true, right?”

The human didn’t respond, which made the atmosphere so heavy it was almost tangible. The monster swallowed and said “… yo… Why won’t you answer me?” The human smiled maliciously, which made the monster nervous. “A… a… and what’s with that weird expression…?” The human’s smile grew wider as they took a few menacing steps towards the monster, who backed up a little and started to sweat before swallowing dryly. “Oh… Oh man…” The monster kept sweating. “Man, my h-heart’s pounding right out of my chest… What would Undyne do?” The monster was attempting to talk to themself, but the human heard them anyway. As the silence lengthened, the tense atmosphere continued to get heavier and heavier, which made the monster even more nervous. Suddenly, the monster appeared to regain confidence before saying “Yo… Y-you’d b-better st-stop r-right where you are… Cause if you w-wanna hurt anyone else… you’re… You’re gonna have to get through me, first. A… and… and…” The human’s smile grew even wider before they delivered a powerful kick aimed at the monster…

…Which was received by a blue-scaled fish-humanoid with an eyepatch, a ponytail, and a full set of heavy metal armor. The yellow monster looked shocked, and said “Undyne… You’re… You’re hurt”

Undyne smiled at the yellow monster and said “Hurt? It’s nothing. Next time, listen when I tell you to leave, okay?”

The yellow monster gave Undyne a worried look and said “Undyne… I…”

“I’ll take care of this! Get out of here!” Undyne said, the anger and urgency leaking into her voice. At this, the yellow monster gave Undyne another worried look while edging away, before finally speeding off.

After the yellow monster was gone, Undyne’s smile disappeared as she turned her gaze to the human. She spoke with shaky words, saying “… heh… ‘It’s nothing’… No… s-somehow, with just one hit… I’m already… Already… D… damn it…. Papyrus… Alphys… ASGORE… Just like that, I… I’ve failed you.” Undyne’s body started to split apart, and the human smiled with a sick satisfaction. But just as Undyne was on the cusp of disintegrating, she stopped.

“No…” The human’s sick smile disappeared, and Undyne continued talking. “My body… It feels like it’s splitting apart. Like any instant… I’ll scatter into a million pieces. But… Deep, deep in my soul. There’s a burning feeling I can’t describe. A burning feeling that WON’T let me die. This isn’t just about monsters anymore, is it? If you get past, you’ll… You’ll destroy them all, won’t you? Monsters… Humans… Everyone… Everyone’s hopes. Everyone’s dreams. Vanquished in an instant. But I WON’T let you do that. Right now, everyone in the world… I can feel their hearts beating as one. And we all have ONE goal. To defeat YOU. Human. No, WHATEVER you are. For the sake of the whole world… I, UNDYNE, will strike you down!” Suddenly, Undyne emitted a blinding light, forcing the human to shield their eyes with their arms. When the light faded, the human put their arms down and saw Undyne was completely different. Her pupils were white, and her sclera was black. She no longer had an eyepatch, and her newly revealed empty eye socket emitted a flashing light in the shape of a spear. Her hair was spiked at the ends like a trident, and her fin rays became more rigid and pointy. She also appeared to have donned a new set of darker colored armor with hearts on her chestplate along with new white gloves, which had spikes protruding from their backsides, accompanied by boots with pointed toes. “You’re gonna have to try harder than THAT.” Undyne said.

The human briefly took a fighting stance before launching at Undyne, delivering a kick with their ballet shoes and stealing the spear that Undyne had summoned. Undyne responded by summoning a multitude of spears, sending them at the human at a moderate speed. The human blocked them with the stolen spear with a malicious mile on their face. Undyne smiled herself before she dramatically sped up the remaining spears. This caught the human off guard, and the smile they previously had turned to shock as they barely managed to parry all but one of the spears, with the spear that they didn’t parry slicing a deep gash across their cheek. After landing another attack, the human dodged another flurry of spears. This rotation continued for a while, with the human occasionally taking a hit or two, and maybe healing it off every so often with some food, before parrying or dodging more spears and attacking.

After a while, both combatants were on their last legs. Undyne was breathing heavily and exhaustedly, and the human had no food left, along with having a number of cuts and stab wounds. The human remembered something and smiled, all they had to do was parry and dodge a little more, and that floundering fish would be dust. Undyne readied her last spear barrage and sent it at the human as usual. The human parried and parried. But just when they thought the barrage was over, the human noticed a spear coming in from behind. The human whirled around with their stolen spear to block it, but it was no use. There was a resonating SHUNK as the spear impaled the human’s midsection. The human despaired for a brief moment before they remembered that they could simply load their previous save, so that’s what they did.

LOAD FAILED

“Wh… Why can’t I load the save…?” The human thought, confused.

LOAD FAILED

LOAD FAILED

LOAD FAILED

“Is that monster’s determination somehow greater than mine?” They thought disbelievingly. “How is that even possible?”

Three more spears pierced through the human, and they fell forwards, on their hands and knees while throwing up a large amount of blood as Undyne slowly walked over to them. Now the human was actually fearing for their life, they thought frantically for something, anything that could help them survive, but their efforts were in vain, there was no way out. The human steeled themself as they turned to face the approaching Undyne, intending to at least leave the repugnant filth a few parting words. After she approached the human, Undyne picked them up by their neck and growled “Nowhere left to run you little brat, time to turn to face danger.” Undyne tightened her grip on the human’s neck, which caused blood to trickle out of their mouth and down her white gloves. “Think about everything you’ve done while you burn in hell, you murderer.”

Undyne then summoned a spear, but before she could use it, the human spoke. “I’m the murderer?” Even more blood trickled from their mouth. “You’re murdering me too, you know. And once you do, you’ll become just like me, and what I say will…come back… to haunt… you…” The human coughed more blood.

“I’ll never be like you, not ever!” Undyne growled fiercely.

“Oh, you’-” Undyne shoved her spear into the human’s chest, cutting them off before they could finish what they said. The human threw up some more blood and coughed, which splattered all over Undyne, before going limp. Undyne checked for a pulse, but found none. The human was dead.

Very evocative storytelling. RIP Frisk, 200X-201X

The player reseting every time be like:

Wowie

Just thinked a thing(i just think things a lot)

If we follow the theory that says something about multiverses (i taked It from Fortnite and Marvel) than we aren't going back in time– We are going to a different timeline~ and in the timeline where we died, things just goed on

So there isn't a reason for feeling remorse when resetting a True Pacifist Ending

And in that overly-realistic, extremely-book-like, explanation of Undyne the Undying’s Battle or something, the human just died—

And in another timeline and another until in the 286395719471th attempt they got past the Sushi:fish:

But i’m here not to stray the subject aways from their origin, so i'll just say i liked it :)

(because i liked)

Exsquisetly enrapturing retelling of the events of the genocide route.

Bro looked at their TheSaurus while writing this.
