Sure, I stole one of their houses for myself, but not a single one has died to a mob, as far as I know.
Oh, and I enslaved a little copper boi to put away my items for me (though he's slow at it.)

Been building a mansion 2000 blocks away from spawn, it's close to an end portal, and bugrock has this cool feature where strongholds spawn directly underneath villages, so the mansion is at the base of a mountain, next to a river, and on the other side of the river there's a village on some cliffs, and if you follow the river, there's a small hole in the ground leading to the end portal room.
Also went back to spawn and converted the first floor of my mob farm to a creeper farm, since I was really low on rockets.
I've played about 1300 days in that world. It's got a lot in it, and a lot more work to go. I'm halfway done building a giant diorite pyramid that I'll turn into the bass pro shops pyramid. Also building an underground complex called Delta Complex (yes that's a Deltarune reference) that's got a McDonald's where I convert villagers into zombie villagers to lower their prices. What better place to turn villagers into wage slaves than McDonald's? Hah. Hahhhhh...
... just coping about the political and economic state of the world, I guess.
Also in the Delta Complex is a big, half-sphere room (flat side up), and I've put a bunch of cake in it. I'm not going to eat all of it, surely. But it's funny. I've got big plans for those tunnels.
Why would I build a mansion 2000 blocks from spawn? Why not? My main base is ugly. It's just four stories of wood, and then an overhanging fifth story made of deepslate. Of course, there's the roof with the lava farm, as well as a bubble column up to the Astral Observatory I built. I considered putting my Dragon Egg up there, but I've just left it to rot. And of course, it sits on top of a big mine, plus Delta Complex.
Spawn is just an island. It's nice. It lets me work with limitations. Everything is just a few hundred blocks within each other.
I tried making an industrial district. It works, sort of. It's got a sugarcane farm and a pumpkin and melon farm. I'll put more farms in it someday.
Speaking of farming, I might be helping with a small apple orchard this year, plus maybe going in for a third year of growing pumpkins. Depends, though. I don't know yet. Oh well.
... you know, I don't know why I'm saying all this. Sometimes I just keep typing. It works, sometimes, but sometimes I just run it too far, and screw it all up.
Eh. May as well say it for anybody who'll bother to read it.
