I recently got a SYSTEM-WIDE BAN on Fandom. It is indefinite. @KockaAdmiralac , @Pwrfghtr08 , and I believe that it may be because I recommended going here instead of fandom.
If so, I’m about to go ballistic.
Fandom is SO DAMNED GREEDY that they refuse to let you even MENTION this VASTLY SUPERIOR PLACE (oh god I sound like a politician), in fear of losing a little money.
I believe that we should leave the old wiki alone, and let it be its own thing, with its users being blissfully ignorant. Now, I recant those thoughts.
Leave it be, though. But don’t let them win.
It’s less greed, and more their policy on forking. Forking is allowed, and they allow a place to discuss a fork, but “The Fandom wiki must not be used to promote or advertise the fork wiki.”
So yeah. Don’t go on the Fandom wiki. Don’t give it traffic. Just let it die out on its own.
And it’s the most greedy policy I’ve ever seen.
I wouldn’t exactly call it greedy? Like, you shouldn’t go on one wiki to advertise another, it’s not exactly greedy to have rules against advertising in that way.
Same reason you shouldn’t go on the Undertale subreddit to advertise your own Undertale-themed subreddit
It’s greedy of them to keep the old wiki up after the people left and moved because of their trash website. Over time, the old wiki will become low-quality and outdated, but will still display first to people searching for Deltarune related things due to its higher SEO, so most ordinary people who haven’t heard about the wiki change won’t have access to the most up to date information. All so that they can keep making miniscule fractions of a percent of their revenue. And it’s not even like the wiki left for no reason, it was because of Fandom’s greediness by making all the articles like 50% ads so they can make more money.
My edit on the Hollow Knight: Silksong fandom got reverted because it linked to a more expansive and useful wiki.
I would just ignore Fandom, if only there were some kind of .wiki search.
