I will be giving my initial thoughts on it throughout the month in this post.
I will first talk about my initial experience with Chapter 3, as I have beaten it.
Later, I will give my thoughts on Chapter 4, as I have not beaten it yet.
These will both be thoughts from my first playthrough, with no guides.
While I was mildly spoiled beforehand in places like who the Chapter 3 secret boss is, this will mainly be me going in with no spoilers.
Other than this, I will be severely inactive on the wiki. I will be going completely inactive during summer break.
I will see you all soon.
Update: My thoughts are here, but scrambled. If you wish to read them, keep in mind spoilers, as well as the fact that they are all over the place due to chatter in the thread.
I'd like to say first that I got my ass handed to me the first time I fought Tenna.
...why didn't I put up a spoiler?
BECAUSE WE'VE KNOWN ABOUT HIM FOR TWO YEARS!!!
I also got my ass handed to me when I fought... actually, I'll set up a spoiler shield with sansbot. I need to get around the chain limit anyways.
Spoilers from here on out.
@sansbot roll 1d1
Well, he's mildly tough.
He's also hell compared to king. I'm not a real god gamer, but king is easier to no-hit then the first encounters with werewires
Not the were/werewerewires…
Werewires are okay (you cant no hit them tho)
But the werrewerewires….
Hmmm... I lost my draft, Oh well.
I recently entered the Second Sanctuary. I was unable to beat the secret boss, but I'll get it on my inevitable second playthrough.
Spoilers ahead.
Chapter 4 secret boss spoilers.
The Gerson fight is genius. You're meant to suck, to learn the bullet patterns, only to lose again. The whole point is to teach Susie how to refine her healing, and it works — the TP cost and healing amount goes down and up, respectively. Also, I never thought I'd hear banjo freedom motif.
The mild meta narrative is also insane. Gerson literally taking away our god complex by removing our items to force us to use magic is amazing.
Overall, it's my... second favorite fight so far.
Fifth would be Jackenstien. It was very annoying, but so very clever and funny. I was laughing my ass off when he said, "YOUR LONG".
Fourth would be Jevil (heavy bias here). I think it's impressive for just the first chapter. I would rank it fifth, but it took me like eight tries to beat Jackenstien. Very annoying and grating.
Third would be my GOAT, Mr (Ant) Tenna. Very fun, goofy, and challenging. The minigames were the only thing I think were bad.
First is, of course, The Roaring Knight.
Even bigger spoilers.
The Knight was probably the last choice for the chapter 3 secret boss, let alone being REQUIRED. Or, for that matter, being brought out before Chapter 5 at the earliest.
We thought we had this chapter figured out, but Toby said "Knight to C3" and screwed a good half of all theories over.
Please do not spoil any content in or beyond Second Sanctuary for me if you've reached it.
In the third sanctuary, Ralsei DIES real
...you didn't end it with /j
please tell me that's not real
It’s real it’s super real ralsei dies of ligma
it's giving the same vibes as "i just finished watching CP movies" "NATHAN NO DONT ABBREVIATE CYBERPUNK!!!" "What's Cyberpunk?"
...dont worry he was watching collective pictures movies
they made the Minecraft movie
Legit the logo for collective pictures is a big "CP"
Suppose I should give my thoughts on the music.
Minor spoilers.
My favorite track from the OST is definitely "Dark Sanctuary''. Toby definitely knew what he had when he made it the main motif for ''From now on", "Second Sanctuary", "Third Sanctuary", and the first thing you hear when you open the chapter.
"Black Knife" is good, but feels lackluster for who we're fighting.
"It's TV Time!" is super goofy and fun. It fits Tenna perfectly. Definitely gives Warioware vibes.
Overall, it's an amazing OST, and Toby absolutely cooked.
wait what about spemtong g spemtong
