DRBEF.MK1 (Scratch game board engine), The third deltarune.wiki discussions scratch project! (DRBEF Devlog 1)

It's here! I recently threw my hat in the ring to make a project on scratch, and it's tedious, but it's another reason to procrastinate my work! It's really basic, but you know what? I'm proud of my work, and I've been having fun seeing it come along, and laughing at my stupidity. I hope it turns out well!

It's only barebones movement right now, but I like it. I think it's a great start.

The thing. It's here. Click the text. Click the hyperlink. Click it. Click. Click. Proceed to click it. Proceed to click it. Do it. Now. It's a giant target for you. Do it. See my creation. Also, isn't it funny that this is the easiest way to colour text? Okay, I'm done with this joke now.

The goal for MK2 is to create collision. Prevent HERO_STAR from leaving the screen, make objects that cannot be walked over.

The goal for MK3 will be action. Action by colliding with tiles, and actions like attacking.

The goal for MK4 will be reaction. Tiles reacting based on action, HERO_STAR changing based on action.

The goal for MK5 will be enemy. Enemy design, action, reaction, movement, influence.

The goal for MK6 will be exploration. Movement between rooms.

The goal for MK7 will be NPC. Character framework, like test dialogue, and movement.

The goal for MK8 will be story. Story framework, trigger activation. This will likely be a severe undertaking.

The goal for MK9 will be polish. It will likely be the hardest, due to having to find problems, and also finding how to fix them.

MK10 is the final goal. It will be the full engine, basically a full test demo. Where MK6 is a proper proof of concept, MK10 is where designs are implemented, as well as animations.

The original announcement

is
HERE

I just started work on MK2. Will release a Devlog tomorrow.

The first internal updates are:

  • Added WASD movement.
  • Because of an oversight regarding inputs, all directional inputs were moved to one string (activated when the flag is pressed.)

Well it seems I have started something great on this wiki lol

Yep.

You should know what this picture means.

Well, I'm all caught up on work, so I should be able to work on this for the rest of the day.

HERO_BLOCKADE
This will be the collision test.

I've run into a collision issue. You can clip through the object. WELP, TIME TO FIX IT!!!

Welp, I don't have nearly enough time to fix it.

THE THE THE THE HYPERLINK!?

Is it possible to have multiple people work on one Scratch project? I could make an account and try to help.

No, there is no collaboration feature; though, a lot of people want it and it could be a feature in the (still unannounced) scratch 4.0 update

Aw dang it.

uhhh Idk if I'm just weird or not, but I don't do THIS many test versions

(No discouragement, sounds absolutely hype)

There are so many stages of development I have to go through, and I'd like some progress to be straight-up visible.

Ehhh... You could theoretically remix the project and work on it on your own, then send it back to me and we could compare...? I mainly need some bases for a few things.

New Devlog. It's nothing I haven't talked about here.
If you've read everything here, you don't have to read this. It's just to link these two threads.
