Deltarune Prophecy Images

Throughout Chapter 4, there are several images alongside the actual text of the prophecy. Recently, I feel like I've been seeing a lot of debates about what the images mean, some using them for personal theories and the like. The main thing I was thinking when seeing these were... are the images really meant to be accurate?

You see, with all this discussion (particularly with the design of "the girl" (thanks, Tricky Tony)) the visual aspect of the prophecy is being put under quite a bit of speculation. This image proves this! No, this image disproves it! Personally I mainly interpreted the images as only symbolic.

I say this because, throughout the prophecy... many images already don't really perfectly align with what we know already? The "The lord of screens cleaved red by blade" panel shows a TV having a single slash in the middle of the screen, while Tenna was actually slashed twice, removing both his arms (not his head). The first hero (Kris) is not an actual cage (as is the birdcage-like thing showed in the prophecy) nor carrying us around in a cage. Ralsei is no longer a cloaked figure. He hasn't been for a couple of days now. Feels more symbolic of the events.

I feel like the images were meant to evoke the general vibes of what's happening but not necessarily be some kind of thing to hyper-analyze (all purposely vague like). Of course, the designs aren't usually THAT different from reality. Ralsei did wear a hood once. Kris does own a cage. Tenna... okay, he gets cleaved I guess? That one still kind of bothers me. The panel makes him look like the deadest man alive.

Feel free to share your thoughts on the images! I don't really have any opinions on this, but I'm curious to see what other people's thoughts are.

IMO "The Girl" panel specifically was made to be interpreted both ways. It could be that the identity of The Girl will depend on which route you're taking.

“Deadest man alive” makes a lot of sense and no sense at the same time lol

Presumably the images, like the text, are meant to be interpretable in multiple ways. We can presume the images are present in the "actual" prophecy, as Susie asks about the image in the "the angel" prophecy and Ralsei talks about it as if he's familiar with it. I wouldn't interpret them to be like, exact pictures of what happens as much as representations of the passages. Some of them seem to be moreso symbols than illustrations of actual things, like the rude buster icon in the "at last, was the girl" prophecy for example.

the deadest man alive.

Bro said two opposing words one after another /j. I'm so proud.

An oxymoron (plurals: oxymorons and oxymora) is a figure of speech that juxtaposes concepts with opposite meanings within a word or in a phrase that is a self-contradiction. As a rhetorical device, an oxymoron illustrates a point to communicate and reveal a paradox. A general meaning of "contradiction in terms" is recorded by the 1902 edition of the Oxford English Dictionary.

Since I see a few messages confused about the "deadest man alive" part, as seen in the above reply: it's an oxymoron. It's also an extremely common one to my knowledge. "Deadest man alive" means that said person is alive, but is in or about to be in a very deadly scenario. Example from The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition: A rhetorical figure in which incongruous or contradictory terms are combined, as in a deafening silence and a mournful optimist. My bad. I didn't mean to confuse anyone.

It was just a joke bro.

We all know what you meant. No need to break out the dictionary.

Sorry ):

Don't be sorry, be like Lancer.

Good.

In the Light World, Tenna when not repaired has cracks on the TV itself.

Because he doesn’t have a body, so where besides his head to put the damage? Would Toby put a literal crater in the wall Tenna is pluged in?? Or would he destroy the small table under the TV? Maybe he could explode Chairiel?

Oh shit the last post was in

semptember

Also, proof the Roaring Knight is a Lightner.

They physically damaged Tenna.

Yes but i’m certain that if you defeated Plugged Berdly only attacking with Ralsei, he would still be hurt in the Light World.

Test it then
