Is someone going to make an article on this?
It’s an officially licensed but fanmade album… it’s kind of a gray area for what we could consider canonical Undertale/Deltarune material. A lot of albums nowadays get officially licensed, and we used to have two album pages on Undertale Wiki for officially licensed albums (Determination and Live at Grillby’s) but moved them out of the main namespace due to nobody using them. I’m not really sure if there’s much to say on it?
I’m of the mindset that since it’s officially licensed it should get an article, even if it were made by a fan. I think that there is more to say about it in the potential article than you may think. Determining whether a subject is canon or not should not matter in coverage; it is officially licensed, so it should reflect that by getting an article. Unless by “canon” you mean “official”.
I could make a draft for an article about it if you’d like.
Forgot to say this earlier, but even if there isn’t much to say in an article for this collection, it would still have more information than some songs on the game’s soundtrack itself already have on their articles.
Personally, I feel like these should be mentioned as officially licensed - perhaps on a page for the soundtrack as a whole explaining when all the albums were released? It’s a bit strange there isn’t one already, actually, especially with the steam soundtrack combining all 3 albums so far.
I do think these should be mentioned on the wikis somewhere. Just, as they weren’t made/mentioned/endorsed by Toby himself or really intended for any promotional-related reasons I don’t think it’s necessary to give them their own full OST page treatment. It would be nice to have them mentioned, at least.
Same would be true for the Spamton Value Network / Love Network music, as the livestream itself wasn’t made by Toby and isn’t “canon”, or really used to tease anything before release, Nonetheless, the music has (mostly) been released via YouTube and it’s still a notable event.
I guess I should also briefly mention the Big Shot remix used in the Spamton plush commercial, as that’s on soundcloud.
Yeah, I imagined an article for the release itself. I don’t think there should be separate pages for its tracks.
OK Toby actually acknowledged them now. I think an “officially licensed / endorsed music” page would be nice for both wikis. They could both really do with an “Overall Soundtracks” page because it’s weird that the only general music page is a category one.
