Who says you need to know how to read to be able to talk Reading wasn't considered a necessary skill to survive before the 19th century For example, most of ancient civilization's (like ancient Greece and ancient Rome) population was illiterate and reading (together with writing) was considered a professional skill ---

If you change your stats, her dialogue box actually changes size to accommodate whatever your stats are. So it is reasonable to say she can read (since she has to read the stats of the code), but it's still possible Flowery told her because he knows the party's stats from when he joined for the Floradinn's. ---
