I have a theory.
In the Dark sanctuary, there is one display that shows the flower man, trapped in asylum, obviously Asgore.
However, he is shown with what I believe is his crown from Undertale, and is wearing what seems to be either his cloak or armour.
This could possibly be a dark world version of him (Where else could he have gotten his shard form), indicating that he may play a role in the dark world in later chapters.
Another theory could be that he originated from the dark world, which explains why he has a black shard. Also, perhaps Toriel divorced him after finding out.
He is revealed to have spent some of his childhood in the light world, as seen with his friendship with Rudy, so he may have came to the light world as a young child. The shard may have been given to him by someone else.
Also, in Undertale he’s the king of monsters and the ruler of the Underground, but in Deltarune he’s apparently just a “divorced florist”? That seems to be a very large power discrepency indeed.
What do you guys think?
Or it could just be forshadowing of him aiding (or harming) the party in events involved with the Roaring.
But where else could he have gotten his crown and cloak/armour?
THE PLACE WHERE KRIS GOT THEIR PAULDRENS
HE IS A LIGHTNER (hopefully he will be in chap 5 dar world tho)
I havent played the game so I dont know where that is
I feel like a King of Monsters would be too much of a miss if not involved in the dark world, so it’ll probably happen, even if not in Chapter 5.
Everyone gets a change of clothes in the Dark World. Even Toriel:

Asgore will likely be involved with Chapter 5's Dark World. This is already consensus. But unless he dies beforehand, he will still be a Lightner.
Toriel looks pretty reminiscent to her Undertale design, minus the shoulderpads and crown.
No. If you take away the shoulder pads and crown, the only thing left is her robe, which does not looks like the one she wore in Undertale. The distinction is even worse considering that we see Toriel dressed exactly as she did in Undertale in the Light World in Chapter 4.
Are you saying Asgore is secretly a darkner with a stolen soul or something? How does he exist in Undertale? This is one of the wildest theories I’ve ever heard
Minus the shoulderpads and crown she looks extremely comparable to her Undertale design
Enderman did not say “Without the shoulderpads and crown she looks PERFECTLY IDENTICAL to her Undertale design”
There’s nothing to argue about
Although to be fair I don’t know why Enderman would bring that up
I guess it would make sense to mention that since Asgore looks similar to his Undertale form in the prophecy
Toriel's Dark World outfit looks nothing like her Undertale outfit.
Robe looks pretty similar
It even has the Deltarune symbol
I don’t know why you’re saying this and nobody agrees with you so far
They're both dresses, but that isn't saying much. Toriel's casual outfit is also similar in the same way. Heck, the pajamas she was wearing when the Fountain was created looks like her Dark World outfit more since it's all the same color (the Undertale outfit has differently colored sleeves) and a distinct neckline (which the Undertale outfit does not have).
... True. There's one similarity between the two. But considering how prevalent the Delta Rune is in the Dreemurr residence, I doubt it is there to match her Undertale outfit. Toriel is related to the symbol just in general.
You said I was making a point about the outfits not being identical. That was wrong. I made it clear that I was making a point of them not being similar.
What does this have to do with anything?
Probably what she wore before divorcing Asgore in Undertale. You know, as Queen? With the crown and everything.
Okay I think it makes sense if she had the crown and shoulderpads but I really really don’t think it was that same outfit
Yeah that wouldn’t make sense
Dark world Undertale characters don’t look the same as they did in Undertale, they just sort of look like the same roles
Undyne has armor, for example, but it resembles her police outfit, and she looks more colorful and fun than in Undertale
