How do you make the pixel sprites of characters or objects have normal quality and not a blurry shitty one?
I have no idea how to correct this and sprites with poor quality look so bad and out of place on artworks.
For example, if I download a sprite from a folder, it shows up very small in Photoshop or Canva. And if you like upscale it, it becomes very blurry and not "pixel crisp", you get what I mean?
And it's very irritating, especially if you're doing a fairly big file, in my instance a wallpaper or something of the same size.
I have a (pretty imo) cool spritework I'd really like to finish but can't because of the said reason: like a 1/4 of images there would look ugly as heck.
Maybe some of you who did this sort of stuff have a good app/site where these images have normal quality when you make them bigger? If so, I'd be mega happy if you'd tell me.
Thanks in advance! ![]()
idk how many programs use this but in my case (paint.net) when you use the "move selected pixels" option, switch bicubic to aproximated and that causes stuff to not be blurry when sized up
I screenshot everything so...yea don't do that it makes it blurry and crap
I just draw the sprite in Scratch and enlargen it using the nifty tool used to enlargen it.
depends on the program! photoshop if it's anything like clip studio should have options for how it upscales images.
in the section where it asks for 'resample' in the resize image thing, set the Resize to 'Nearest neighbor'.
... of course, I'm lazy, so usually what I do is I use my old copy of ms paint and resize there if it's a basic 200% upscale lmao.
I usually use Nearest Neighbor but you do you ig
i do use the program on portuguese maybe aproximated and nearest neighbor are the same idk
